I was going to leave you alone about my Asian men Hollywood, honest. I was good with Gabrielle Union and John Cho’s coupling on Flash Forward. I wanted to be able to settle... then of course, the bedroom door was closed on their first love scene together. Fine, its primetime TV, I can take it for the kids.But then HWood, you made Ninja Assassin. Not with a Jet Li or Jackie Chan type character but with Bi/Rain a sexy top oppa from Korea—ONE OF THE BIGGEST SINGER/DANCER/ACTORS there! And you paired him with Naomi Harris good looking woman in her own right and with a britcent too.
Then you did us like Romeo Must Die!
No love scene? Really? Have you *SEEN* Rain’s sexy body?! If I was the director it would have been some soft-core porn movie LOL.
HWood are you allergic to the thought of women getting all panty twisted over someone other than your top generic romantic comedy actors? Do you think that the world would completely explode if our female wet dreams starred people other than the Matthew Maconahay or Brad Pitt types?

The lack of sex/love scene in Ninja Assassins didn't bother me. I thought their relationship was sweet and loving; they really cared about one another. Plus, if there had been any romance in that movie it would have side tracked things and seemed really out of place; especially since it was a vioelnt, bloody action movie.

ReplyDeleteI would just like to say I completely agree with you. I was so hurt when I finally saw the movie and then realized they had managed to pull another Romeo Must Die. I mean WOW... it is 2010 and Hollywood still can't get it together.
ReplyDeleteI heard there was supposed to be a romantic scene in the movie, but they cut it out. I think it was a shower scene or something (Naomie Harris spoke about it in an interview).
I was thinking if I could go back and insert kissing scenes in the movie, the romantic scene would be the shower scene where we only see her shoulders and he is resting on the bed. I would have woke him up, added him to her shower, had him stumbling as she is trying to help clean him up and they end up kissing and then a make out session ensues! Then the next one would be back at the ninja lair where he is about to be executed. Right when she runs to him to help untie him there need to be a really unnecessary kissing scene right in the midst of all the gunfire. Oh and then they need to have another kissing scene right after she is stabbed in the heart and Raizo defeats Ozuno. Right when he goes to pick her up there should have been a Mika come back to me moment plus kiss. And maybe a final unnecessary kiss just to get the point across after she starts breathing again and opens her eyes he should have kissed her right there in front of everyone including her boss! haha OH what a great movie that would have been. I would have bought that one for sure.
Oh well in my dreams, but just recently they re-released Avatar with the complete sex scene from it so maybe Ninja Assassin might take a page out of their book and follow suit. I mean if you can have two Navi people having an intimate love scene, you can surely add back the shower scene or whatever romantic scenes they cut out of NA right?!
