a crush a day: one part humorous & two scoops opinionated

Humorous: Talking about FMILF (famous men I’d like to freak) while let my mind go wild (PG-13 most of the time).
Opinionated: Dispelling racially constructed and stereotypical ideas of the typical guys that an Ghanaian-Canadian (black woman/BW) is attracted to and/or attracts.
Policies: Real life crushes will only be discussed when they show teachable moments. Their identities will be hidden with a nickname. No one will be called out directly through their real name or anything of that nature.

284. fantasy draft

I started the Become A Real Canadian post series because of a commercial that I saw with a friend a couple of years ago that connected winter sports with being “a real Canadian.” Well, what is the most popular winter sport in Canada? HOCKEY! So I started those posts but got caught up in other ones. Now I am bringing them back.

We’re in the middle of playoff season for but I am already working on my fantasy draft team (because of a friend who sent me all of the pictures of all of these hockey guys). So of course, I am not building an accurate hockey team with all of them but if there needed to be a hockey calendar I’m pretty sure I would want them in it.
In order to make a good team we have to report their stats but the ‘a crush a day’ version instead of the standard hockey ones.

The Captain: Jonathan Toews
STATS: Taurus | 6’ 2 | plays for Chicago Blackhawks |Currently the youngest captain in the NHL (aka big money!) | won the Stanley Cup with his team in 2010 | part of and the current youngest to enter the Triple Gold Club | Canadian born (Winnipeg) and plays for Team Canada | as of 2010 he reported to be single (I don’t want to know if he isn’t!)
Penalty Killer: Jordan Staal

STATS: Virgo | 6’4 | plays for Pittsburgh Penguins | alternate Captain | Canadian born (Thunder Bay) plays for Team Canada | one of the NHL's premier penalty-killers with strong defensive skills + scoring touch that makes him a threat for shorthanded goals | Hockey family (1 of 4 brothers playing professional hockey)*

*Therefore if you marry him you’re kids are going to be playing hockey. Prepare to be an Ice Mama!

Humanitarian Hockey: Luke Schenn
STATS: Scorpio | 6’2 | plays for Toronto Maple Leafs* | does charity work** | born Canadian (Saskatoon) and plays for Team Canada
*Lord Jesus—poor child!

**He is a key contributor to the Maple Leafs' efforts to honor Canada's military. During his rookie season, he donated $ 10,000 to start Luke's Troops, which allows Canadian servicemen and women to attend the team's home games as Schenn's guest (via Wikipedia)

&&&
My top pick out of this would have to be Jonthan Toews. My heart and head (and other choice places) are zooming in on him.

The next part of this series will be our French Canadian hockey players who would totally make me into a fondue if I didn’t give them their own post.
