Shame: Michael Fassbender and Nicole Beharie filming SHAME on the streets of NYC. In the film, Fassbender plays a fellow by the name of Brandon, described as a 30-something man living in New York, whose addiction to pornography threatens to destroy his romantic life. He meets an “extremely beautiful,” “very confident,” black woman, with an “unwitting sexuality,” who is “clearly attracted to Brandon.” Needless to say, the black woman is played by Nicole Beharie. The pair apparently date, and eventually develop a relationship, although she is unaware of his inability to connect with a woman on more than a superficial level, thanks to his porn addiction! Drama naturally ensues. The film should be out later this year, although no specific date has been announced. via LivingWell

Blue Belle:

Blue Belle is based on the true story of a woman living two lives – one as a high school teacher during the week in Santa Barbara, and the other feeding an adolescent neurosis working weekends in Las Vegas. Already trying to free herself from the addictive pattern started as a teenager, Blue is now being stalked by a student named Marcus, who decides to go to Vegas himself. Marcus, a paraplegic and wheelchair bound, follows his beloved teacher to her other life, planning on catching up to her to confront her about why she’s made the choice to sell her body to strangers. Part of a longer running narrative, the Blue Belle series is viewable on this site in 21 three-minute episodes. Written and directed by Perry Lang and starring Tessa Thompson, Blue Belle is about a woman’s struggle to bring two incomplete halves of a very complicated life together.
